About the Laboratory

Cryogenics deals with the production and use of ultra-low temperatures (below -150oC). It finds application in space technology, medicine, electronics, food technology etc. The Centre for Advanced Studies in Cryogenics (CASC) provides exposure to various facets of this interesting domain. The lab has a wide range of cryo-coolers, refrigerators and one gas liquefaction system (liquid nitrogen generator). Research scholars and project students also have access to computational facilities with analytical software for research projects..
