Currently the following three laboratory programmes are offered based on the facility of Industrial Engineering laboratory:
1. Industrial Engineering Lab for Post-Graduate (PG) Programme in Industrial Engg. & Management
2. Modelling and Data Analytics Lab for PG Programme in Industrial Engg. & Management (Previously, the lab course offered was titled as Computational Lab)
3. Management Science Lab for Under-Graduate (UG) programme in Production Engineering
The facilities for experiments/exercises available in the laboratory help the students to get better insight and improve the understanding in
◙ Production/Operations management
◙ Industrial Engineering
◙ Manufacturing system simulation
◙ Performance evaluation of production systems
◙ Supply chain management
◙ Work system design
◙ Coding in MATLAB, Python, Scilab, and R
The course outcomes of above laboratory programmes are the following:
► To create awareness about the application of scientific methods in operations function of any enterprise and in supply chain management
► Ability to develop appropriate models, methods, and procedures for the practical problems in the operation of a firm
► Solve models using appropriate solution procedures and suitable software tools
► Apply theoretical knowledge in solving and inferencing in the practical operational and supply chain management problems
► Develop better interface between people and machines in work systems
► Develop skills to code algorithms
► Understand the need for coordination and team work
